DASC | GMT | COSC | HCI – Colloquia
Which MSc students are eligible to participate in the invited presentations at the Data Science Colloquium?
The invited presentations by industry and governmental institutes are open to students from several MSc programmes, with participation and credit arrangements depending on the programme.
For DASC students, participation is mandatory. DASC students are required to attend 14 invited presentations throughout the academic year.
For GMT students, participation is optional. GMT students may attend invited speaker sessions if they wish and receive 5 credits for each session they attend. There is no requirement for GMT students to prepare a summary report for the GMT coordinators of the colloquium.
For COSC students, the Data Science Colloquium can count toward external points. COSC students may receive credits for attending these talks, with a maximum of 5 such talks throughout their study. To receive attendance points, COSC students must send a summary of the talk to the COSC coordinator.
For HCI students, participation may be possible on a case-by-case basis. Since the HCI colloquium is primarily focused on HCI research, only Data Science Colloquium talks that are sufficiently relevant to HCI may be eligible for credit. The Data Science speaker agenda will be shared with the HCI colloquium coordinator, who will review the talks and decide which ones can be promoted to HCI students for colloquium credit.
